Gangster Nayeemuddin’s kin held for land grabbing

Police apprehended the couple at Koheer village in Sangareddy district and produced them before the court on Tuesday.

Hyderabad: Slain gangster Nayeemuddin’s sister and brother-in-law who are accused in six cases of land grabbing and acted as benamis, were arrested by Bhongir police. Police apprehended the couple at Koheer village in Sangareddy district and produced them before the court on Tuesday.

Bhongir ACP N Bhujanga Rao said that Mohd Abdul Saleem, 54, brother-in-law of gangster Nayeemuddin alias Nayeem and his wife Ayesha Begum, 48, were booked in six cases of land grabbing and were threatening people. After Nayeem’s death, they had been taking shelter in Koheer village in Sangareddy district. They played a key role in the illegal activities of the gangster before his death. Nayeem used to get the lands registered in the names of Ayesha and Saleem by threatening the landowners.

Earlier, Saleem was arrested thrice at Bhongir, Pahadishareef and Kalvakurthy, while Ayesha was arrested once.
