Kozhikode: Elaborate arrangements have been made for the counting of votes at JDT Islam College, Vellimadukunnu here, the counting station in the district.
Collector Seeram Sambasiva Rao, who is also the chief electoral officer of the district, monitored the trial run for the counting for Kozhikode and Vadakara constituencies.
The latest updates of counting of each constituency can be accessed through the two web-applications 'Suvidha' and 'Trend.' Their accessibility was examined in the trial run. Electoral officers and deputy electoral officers uploaded information from the counting hall to the web applications. The collector also examined the process and gave suggestions.
During the trial run, the voting machine was not used but the data prepared by the booth agents of candidates while polling was entered. Postal ballots will be received up to 8 a.m. on the counting day.
