Hyderabad: A fire broke out in an empty patch of land near the Secunderabad railway station at about 9.30 pm on Sunday.
The fire broke out beside the railways’s ‘route relay interlocking tower’. The fire spread due to the presence of dry trees. No injuries were been reported. The cause of the fire is yet to be identified.
Railway security, health and cleaning staff and Railway Protection Force personnel reacted quickly and contained the fire before the fire brigade took over.
“Some railway equipment which is flammable is kept a short distance away and it has not been damaged. Only a few dead trees were present on this stretch of land and we tried to contain the fire using sand and water,” said a railway official.
