The government has taken up the Mission Kakatiya project to develop lakes and tanks in order to restore agriculture in villages.

Hyderabad: Telangana Transport Minister P. Mahender Reddy, during his Georgia trip, requested NRIs to adopt villages, water tanks and even bus shelters in their village to achieve the goal of ‘Golden Telangana.’

Speaking at ‘Meet & Greet’ organised on Sunday at Cuming Sky Land Business Centre by Telugu associations like ATA and NAA in connection with Telangana Formation Day, the minister said that the newly formed Telangana State was developing rapidly under the leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. “In a bid to reach the goal of Golden Telangana, the state needs the support of NRIs. After bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, both the Telugu states have stepped up their drive for development. Telangana has become a paradise for investors. The government has taken up the Mission Kakatiya project to develop lakes and tanks in order to restore agriculture in villages. NRIs should take part in such programmes by adopting lakes and tanks.
