UoH leader wants CBI on Rohith Vemula case
Hyderabad: Mr Raju Kumar Sahu, general secretary of Students Union of University of Hyderabad, has written to the President, the Union ministry of human resource development and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao asking them to entrusting the Rohith Vemula suicide case to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Mr Sahu mailed his letters on Thursday in which he accused the Joint Action Committee for Social Justice, which is spearheading protests on the issue at the UoH, of colluding with political parties for personal and political gains.
He raised doubts over the protests that were being conducted in an uninterrupted manner and questioned the source of funds for the protests which have been continuing since January.
He wrote that many students were suffering due to the disturbances in university created by the continuous agitations. He said the new academic year which will start from July needs a healthy and peaceful atmosphere.
Mr Sahu had resigned a few days back from the students political outfit Students Federation of India from which he contested the student union elections last year.
