Adilabad sizzling between 44–45 degrees Celsius

People say they have not experienced such high temperatures in April month itself during the past 10 years

ADILABAD: The entire erstwhile Adilabad district is experiencing extremely hot summer, with temperatures recorded between 44–45 degrees Celsius in the last two days. The forecast is that temperatures may rise further in the coming days.

People say they have not experienced such high temperatures in April month itself during the past 10 years. They complain that even their air conditioners are not beating the heat. Some say the temperature could be 46 degrees Celsius or even more.

There are complaints of frequent and prolonged power cuts even during the night time. Because of the heat, there is high demand for power this summer. Surge in consumption of power might be resulting in power cuts, since many people have started using air-conditioners, coolers, ceiling, and table fans.

Sai Kumar of Adilabad town said their air-conditioner is unable to cope with the high temperatures. They have thus also started using their old cooler, which is providing some respite.

Weather conditions have turned humid after a brief spell of rain on Thursday night. But there has been no relief from the hot weather conditions.
