Secunderabad: Felicitation for bronze boxing champ
Hyderabad: The bronze medal winner in boxing, Naib Subedar Mohammed Hussamuddin, is a junior commissioned officer from 1 EME Centre, Secunderabad.
The medal winner was honored at 1 EME Centre on April 20 for his achievement, which has brought laurels to the nation and the Indian Army.
The Corps of EME has produced outstanding sportspersons, namely, Milkha Singh who set ablaze the athletic arena in India and abroad in the 400m races during 1950’s and 1960’s; Brigadier R.K. Manchanda, a seven-time national squash champion; Major HPS Ahluwalia, the first defence person to scale Mount Everest; Colonel J.K. Bajaj, the first Asian to reach the South pole. The fraternity of the Corps of EME, popularly called the ‘The Eagles’ is an organisation with the best skilled technicians and engineers from the Indian Army.
