Telangana: Passenger train derails, trains diverted

All the passengers were moved to Kalgupur, from where special buses were arranged for them to move to Bidar.

Hyderabad: The Aurangabad-Hyderabad passenger train was derailed between Kalagapur -Bhalki station on Parli-Vikarabad section of Secunderabad division at around 2 am.

Three bogies along with the engine, were derailed. The passengers are safe and no casualties were reported, but the trains going from the same route have been diverted, said Mr Vinod Kumar Yadav, the General Manager of South Central Railway.

He added, “Over 500 passengers were traveling in the train when the incident happened and we are fortunate that nobody was injured. All the passengers were moved to Kalgupur, from where special buses were arranged for them to move to Bidar. Their further travel from Bidar to Hyderabad was arranged by the Bidar-Hyderabad intercity express.”

At the spot of derailment, the switch expansion joint, plate screws, nuts and brackets of the track were found intact without any signs of damage.The derailment let to the cancellation of 57547 Hyderabad-Purna passenger and 57550 Aurangabad-Hyderabad passenger. Train No. 57549 Hyderabad-Aurangabad passenger was partially cancelled between Bidar and Aurangabad.

Train No. 17205 Sainagar Siridi to Kakinada Port via Parbhani, Purna, Nanded, Nizamabad and Secunderabad; 57548 Purna-Hyderabad passenger via Mudkhed, Nanded, Nizamabad and Secunderabad; 07017 Adilabad-Hyderabad holiday special via Kurduvadi and Wadi.Catering arrangements were also made for the passengers.
