Hyderabad: Negligence of the Housing Board claimed the life of an Intermediate student who fell into a 55-foot trench while playing in KPHB and drowned on Friday. The trench had about 30 feet of water.
M. Krishna Teja, 17, was playing cricket with his friends when the ball fell into the trench dug up by the Housing Board at KPHB Phase 4. He went to retrieve the ball and fell into the trench.
There was no caution board; nor was the trench fenced off. The body was fished out from the trench. KPHB police registered a case under Section 304-A (death by negligence).
