Ambumani Ramadoss cites Kannadigas presence in Kollywood

He expressed regret over the Karnataka government not acting against the Kannadiga outfits.

CHENNAI: Strongly opposing the protests against Tamil actor Sathyaraj in Karnataka, PMK youth wing leader Anbumani Ramadoss on Friday cited the presence of many Kannadiga artistes in Kollywood and warned of serious consequences if Tamil Nadu followed a similar approach.

A large number of actors and other technicians are working in Tamil films and many of them had supported Karnataka and opposed Tamil Nadu's stand in the past, he said. If Tamil Nadu followed a similar approach, the repercussions would be serious, he said.

However, he added that neither the PMK nor Tamils would follow such an approach since they considered all people in the country as brethren, but Kannadiga outfits should not harm such cordiality.

He expressed regret over the Karnataka government not acting against the Kannadiga outfits and asked it to end such protests by Kannadiga outfits.

He also expressed doubts if the protests were an attempt to divert the attention of Tamil Nadu farmers in Delhi who are dema-nding the setting up of the Cauvery Management Board.

Sathyaraj had already expressed regret over his speech, showing his magnanimity, but the Kannadiga outfits are still conducting agitations against him and burning his effigies, Ramadoss said and demanded that the protests should be stopped.
