Chennai: The Madras high court on Thursday directed the state government to formulate a final policy for providing ramps in all the medical college and hospitals and also indicate the time line for its implementation. A division bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice M. M. Sundresh gave the above directive on a PIL from Jawaharlal Shanmugam, which sought a direction to the authorities to provide ramp facility as a mandatory rule from the topmost floor to ground floor for easy evacuation of patients in all high rise hospital buildings.
