Andhra Pradesh government supports SCS protests, says Chandrababu Naidu
Vijayawada: The Chief Minister has decided to extend his support to any party organising protests for protecting the state’s interests only if Law and Order is not violated. While interacting with Sadhikara Mitra members on Wednesday in Undavalli grievance hall, Mr Naidu opined that protests should be constructive and yield results like the one in Japan. Naidu even mentioned extending support to the opposition.
It is rare for the ruling party to support such protests. But, TD is careful not to get negative response from the public in the Special Category Status matter.
TD also extended its support for the block of National Highways across the state, a protest call by left parties to be held today. Mr Naidu while maintaining that protests aren’t good for development, agreed to sacrifice his stand for protecting the state’s interests. He even opined of hurdles for investments to the state if protests aren’t under control and affect the law and order and suggested working with black badges while protesting.
Sadhikara Mitra members are like TDs army and there is one Sadhikara Mitra member for every 35 households, and across the state there are 4.75 lakh members. Mr Naidu interacted with the team leaders of Sadhikara Mitra on Wednesday and assigned them the responsibility of explaining to the public effectively how the Union Government has cheated the state. He directed them to explain clearly how TD had allied with BJP for development and how it broke the relation for protecting the state’s interests and public sentiments. At the same time, Mr Naidu explained the developmental activities taken up by TD across the state and see the happiness index among the public increase.
