Temperature crosses 40 degrees Celsius in parts of the Andhra Pradesh

Light showers are expected to continue for few days.

Visakhapatnam: Light rains continued in isolated places of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday. However, dry weather remained in majority of the areas of the state.

Cheedikada, Koyyuru, Gudibanda, Madugula and Butchayyapeta received more than 1 cm rainfall on Tuesday. The highest maximum temperature of 40°C was recorded at Anantapur. The prevailing trough from West Bengal to interior Tamil Nadu across Rayalaseema has become less marked and lost its impact on the state.

Meanwhile, a trough is running from Lakshadweep to north coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Light showers are expected to continue for another few days. There has been an appreciable rise in minimum temperatures in most places over coastal AP and Rayalaseema. The lowest minimum temperature of 190°C was recorded at Arogyavaram.
