Uniform rules for varsities, new law soon in Andhra Pradesh

The minister said during Question Hour in Assembly that the scheduled V-Cs conference would discuss these issues.

Hyderabad: Human resource development minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said on Monday that the AP government will bring forward a “Common Universities Act” so as to have uniform rules and regulations, and for recruitments.

The minister said during Question Hour in the Assembly that the scheduled V-Cs conference on Tuesday would discuss these issues. CM Chandrababu Naidu agreed to allot Rs 350 crore for creation of infrastructure in the universities and create an additional 1,085 teaching and non-teaching posts.

AP Intermediate Education Act likely to be amended
The state government has introduced the AP Intermediate Education Act 1971 amendment bill to reconstitute the AP Inter Board for all the 13 districts.

In view of the AP Reorganisation Act, the government has to issue orders reconstituting the AP Board of Intermediate Education for governing the system of Inter education for all the districts and nominating chairman, members, ex-officio members, nominated members and co-opted members for the Inter board. The amendment bill will provide these powers to the government.
