Saritha S Nair seeks CBI probe on solar scam, moves Kerala High Court

She claimed that the state machinery had promised her to proceed with the project and later refused to honor its commitments.

Kochi: Solar case accused Saritha S. Nair on Monday filed a plea before the Kerala High Court seeking CBI investigation into the entire scam. She submitted that it warranted a re-investigation as the police had not conducted a fair probe.
According to her even after Sreedharan Nair's 164 statement indicting Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, no further action was taken.

She claimed that the state machinery had promised her to proceed with the project and later refused to honor its commitments. After that, another state machinery was prosecuting the petitioner for alleged offences.

She contended that the state roped in entrepreneurs for setting up solar plants, and since the investment was substantially high, the complainant wanted a personal assurance from Mr Chandy. She then introduced him and got an assurance. He assured him that her company would be allotted land and that there was no impediment in investing.

Mr Nair invested Rs 40 lakh after that. Money also went to the CM's office, she claimed. She argued that allotment of land was delayed, and the government went back on its assurances. Subsequently, Mr Nair filed a complaint.

In his 164 statement before the magistrate, he had explicitly stated about the role played by CM in the context and that he had refrained from prosecuting CM as he was afraid of him.

She argued that a scrutiny of the CD file would indicate that the case had been consciously camouflaged in such a manner to save Mr Chandy from the arms of the law.
