Are you happy with the allocation given by the government?
Although the numbers are not what I expected I still feel it is an achievement as for the first time we have received such support from the government. It is definitely good news. We have at least made a beginning.
How are you planning to meet the demand?
After scrapping a few old vehicles, we will be able to add 700 odd buses. We cannot jump into big numbers as we also need to build infrastructure. We will be happy if we can implement even this much.
Any specific areas you are looking to focus on?
Of course ITPL will be our prime focus and later we want to have some buses within the city, closer to layouts so that the bus stops are not very far from people’s destinations.
What kind of buses can we expect?
We will have a combination of high-end, ordinary and mini buses that will mostly work as feeder services to the Metro Rail.
Any update from the BBMP on bus shelters?
They have informed us that the tendering process is on.
