BJP condemns MIM leader for hate comments
Hyderabad: The state BJP on Friday condemned MIM leader Waris Pathan’s comments on Hindus during an anti-CAA rally held in Karnataka on Thursday. The BJP called his comments undemocratic and criticised MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for not condemning the statements made by his party MLA.
BJP spokesman K. Krishna Saagar Rao alleged at a press conference at the party’s office here, that Mr Pathan made “venomous communal statements” and his party chief did not condemn them.
A woman first shouted ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and then Mr Pathan made his statement which clearly establish the “real agenda” behind anti-CAA protests led by parties like the MIM, the Congress, Communists, TRS and the Trinamul Congress, he alleged. “Under the guise of opposing CAA, these opportunists and communal parties are leading a divisive agenda against India,” Mr Krishna Saagar Rao said.
Questioning Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for not responding and not condemning the threatening statements made against Hindus by the MIM leader and the anti-national slogans by a woman at a meeting organised by the MIM in Karnataka, the BJP spokesman said, “Can KCR still claim to be secular by being associated with MIM, when that party is making hateful, insinuating statements against Hindus with a communal agenda? Shouldn’t KCR as the president of the TRS party clear his party position on the ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ statements made at a MIM meeting?” he questioned.
The duplicity and hypocrisy of Congress, Communist and TRS parties along with many self-proclaimed secular watchdogs have been exposed by
their conspicuous silence on the brazen communal threat made by the MIM party leader, he said.
