Hyderabad: Debris of pruned trees left on roads
Hyderabad: Debris from the trees that were trimmed by the electricity department a week ago has been left to rot on the roadsides in Malkajgiri, making it difficult for motorists and pedestrians and giving space for insects to breed.
Adding to the troubles, households are allowing water from their overhead tanks to overflow on to the streets. “This is soaking the tree debris which is rotting, said a local resident,” Mr Narasimha.
Mr Kasi Nagesh of Devinagar Colony said, “‘Our colony is bothered by mosquitoes from the nearby RK Puram lake. The stagnating water is proving to be breeding ground for mosquitoes.”
The residents complained to the electricity department but there has been no action. “We were told the problem would be solved soon,” Mr B.T. Srinivas from the Malkajgiri Welfare Association said.
