Cabinet brings Telangana Secretariat back to life
HYDERABAD: The Telangana state Secretariat has regained its busy atmosphere after being left vacant for almost five and a half months with three ministers taking charge on Thursday. Even the officials were seen gearing up for the four-day Budget Session with the Finance Department becoming the hub for activity.
The workforce at the Secretariat is in full work mode after months of dull days. Apart from routine work on establishments and clearance of pending files, the staff had very less activity over the past few months. With Ministers taking charge, many public representatives and secretariat employees congratulated them.
Ministers Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, G. Jagadish Reddy and Vemula Prashanth Reddy assumed charge on Thursday. Crowds swelled at the Secretariat which had no activity since the dissolution of the Assembly. Over the past two months after forming the government, the visitors were very few as there was only one minister – Mr Mohd Mahmood Ali.
Amidst Vedic chants, accompanied by his wife, Mr Niranjan Reddy assumed charge as minister for agriculture, co-operation, marketing, food and civil Supplies and consumer affairs. Mr Jagadish Reddy took charge as minister for education.
