Hyderabad: BSNL clarifies on numbering plan
The document used the term M2M which means Machine to Machine but people were panicked after thinking it as mobile to mobile.
Hyderabad: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) tweeted on Wednesday to clarify some reports spreading in the social media.
BSNL tweeted on Wednesday from its official account to ask people not to panic. The tweet says, “There is no change in mobile numbering plan which will remain as 10 digits.
BSNL is preparing for machine to machine (m2m) communication wherein 13 digits numbering scheme shall be used to connect billions of machines’’.
An official document by BSNL went viral stating that the regular mobile number which is currently made of 10 digits will be changed to 13 digits from July 1, 2018.
