Three youth killed in separate road accidents across Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Three people were killed in separate road accidents on Sunday in Whitefield, K.R. Puram and Devanahalli traffic police station limits.

A 38-year-old graphic designer died on the spot after a speeding lorry knocked his bike down in Whitefield traffic police limits. The deceased, Preamranjan, was a resident of Whitefield and hailed from Tamil Nadu.

He was returning home on his Bullet bike when the speeding lorry crashed into his bike near Big Bazaar in Whitefield around 3.30 pm and fled the spot. Passersby rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

In the second incident, a 35-year-old biker was killed after a speeding goods vehicle crashed into his bike from behind in KR Puram traffic police limits on Sunday night.

The deceased, Atul B., was a resident of TC Palya in KR Puram and hailed from West Bengal. He was working at a private factory.

He was returning home from work on his two-wheeler when the goods vehicle crashed into his bike from behind near Battarahalli in KR Puram around 8 pm. Atul, who was tossed high into the air, crashed on the road and sustained severe head injuries. Passerby rushed him to a hospital, where he died later.

The KR Puram traffic police seized the vehicle and arrested the accused driver.

In another incident, a pedestrian died on the spot after a speeding lorry knocked him down while he was crossing the road at Devanahalli.

The deceased, Niranjan Nayak, 45, from Bihar, was working at a construction site at Devanahalli and was staying at the same place.

Niranjan was crossing the road near Dhaba Gate in Devanahalli around 8.30 pm when the lorry mowed him down. The police seized the vehicle and arrested the driver.
