Centre has done a lot for Andhra Pradesh, says Nitin Gadkari

He reiterated that by 2022 all the poor in the country would be given houses.

Vijayawada: Union water resources minister, Nitin Gadkari said that no Union government had done so much for Andhra Pradesh after independence and challenged TD leaders who had been alleging ill-treatment by the BJP on the Centre’s help to the state.alking to partymen on Monday, Mr Gadkari lamented that though Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been doing a lot for Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has been criticising him for political gains. He said that the state government was not giving proper credit to Modi for his good work.

He explained that the Union government would be funding 100 per cent of the Polavaram project cost which was the lifeline of Andhra Pradesh. He reminded that as of now 62 per cent of the works had been completed. He added that hundreds of kilometres of national highways worth thousands of crores had been sanctioned in Andhra Pradesh. The Union minister also said that the Union government was committed to the completion of the Vizag Chennai Industrial Corrdior (VCIC).

He reiterated that by 2022 all the poor in the country would be given houses. He also said that terrorist activities had come down drastically in the country after Modi came to power. Mr Gadkari said that with the aim of providing some solace to the economically weaker in the general category, 10 per cent reservations had been announced.

State BJP president, Kanna Lakshmi-narayana alleged that Mr Naidu was not satisfied with his thirst for money and lands and indulged in huge scams.
