Students must inspire next generations: Salman Khurshid

Mr Khurshid also advised the graduating batch to stay responsible to ensure their upcoming generations are offered the best from them.

Bengaluru: Former union minister of external affairs Salman Khurshid on Sunday said that we should realize that we have the best of schools amidst us while arguing about the kind of schools and education which we must have.

“In times of turmoil, when fundamental values are under stress and are questioned, islands like these which preserve not just efficiency and good education, but also etiquette and value should be looked up to,” he said at the graduation ceremony of Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, held in the city on Sunday.

Mr Khurshid also advised the graduating batch to stay responsible to ensure their upcoming generations are offered the best from them. “Leave footsteps that would turn inspirational for them in every moment of life so that your names will be emulated decades from now in the same manner as how they were read out today,” he said.

A total of 670 students, of which 231 were from class XII, were felicitated during the function. Welcoming the audience, Principal Prof. John K. Zachariah said the present academic year had witnessed the largest ever outgoing batch in the history of the 63-year old institution.

“This batch has also been instrumental in contributing to the school being selected for the Global Innovative School Award which will be awarded next week in Dubai. The school was also announced one of the top three Boys’ Schools in India according to Education Today,” he elaborated. Headmaster of St. Edmund’s College, United Kingdom Paulo Duran urged the graduating students to be daring in their lives forward.
