Finance minister Dr T M Thomas Isaac returns before voting

Kochi: Finance Minister Thomas Isaac did not participate in the voting of the CPM central committee which has rejected the document proposed by party general secretary calling for a strategic alliance with the Congress. Isaac returned to Kerala before the voting.

Sources close to Isaac pointed out that the finance minister has sought the permission of the party to return to the state in view of the discussions ahead with the preparation of the state budget. The budget session of the assembly begins from Monday.
