JD(S) in poll mode, Gowda prepares candidates' list

State JD(S) chief H.D. Kumaraswamy has begun touring all constituencies to drum up support for the party.

Bengaluru: The Janata Dal (Secular) seems to have already switched to “poll mode” for the coming 2018 assembly elections in the state. Party supremo H.D. Deve Gowda has not only prepared a list of candidates for at least 100 Assembly constituencies in consultation with local leaders , but also directed them to start working in their respective constituencies to prepare for the polls, according to sources.

State Janata Dal(S) president H.D. Kumaraswamy, has meanwhile begun touring all the constituencies to drum up support for the party and boost the morale of its workers. The IT wing of the party too has got busy on social media, focusing on the performance of the Janata Dal (Secular) during its 20 months in power in the state.

A 53 seconds video on the achievements of the Kumaraswamy government such as waiving off farmers' loans, banning of arrack and lottery, grama vastavya and development of rural areas has made it to Facebook, Twitter and youtube.

The decision to start the party campaign early was taken by Mr Kumaraswamy, who is aiming to win 113 of the 224 seats to form the government in the state, sources reveal.
