Belagavi: BJP MLC Basavaraj Horatti has been unanimously elected as Chairman of the Karnataka Legislative Council on Wednesday. This is Horatti’s second term as chairman of the Council.

In the house of 75 seats, Congress has 26 and JD(S) has eight members in addition to an Independent member.

Winning eight consecutive times since 1980, Horatti is the longest-serving member of the council.
