Hyderabad: Two drug peddlers from Uttar Pradesh, who were involved in a murder at KPHB and an attempted dacoity at Keesara were arrested by the Rachakonda police on Thursday. The accused were held at Ankleshwar by the Gujarat police, following a gun battle and brought here on a transit warrant.

In October 2017, Mahesh Bhagwat said Brijbhushan Pandey alias Butul, 27, and his elder brother Shashibhushan Pandey, 30, killed their aide, Chandrasekhar of Andhra Pradesh, suspecting that he had tipped off the Narcotic Control Bureau about drug peddling, which led to the closure of their drug making units in Indore, he said. Five persons were arrested then, however, Brijbhushan and Shashibhushan, have been absconding.

Rachakonda police commissioner said the two are also wanted in four cases in Telangana state. Since 2009, the gang headed by Brijbhushan was making Ephedrine in the city and exported the drug to Madhya Pradesh.

Since then, the siblings along with other gang members robbed several jewellery stores across in Gujarat and Rajasthan.

“On September 17, the accused along with four others Santosh Singh, Nate, Ashwin Pathak and Praveen attempted a dacoity in RS Rathore jewellery at Dammaiguda in Keesara, said the commissioner.

They have been brought to the city on a PT warrant and produced in the court for judicial remand, while the other four accused are yet to be nabbed, he said, adding that a revolver and six live bullets and an empty cartridge were recovered from them.
