HYDERABAD: To protect the Aadhaar from security breaches, UIDAI has introduced an option on their official website to allow people to view their Aadhaar usage history.
The option allows the citizens to know when the biometric data was used. This update comes days after Bharati Airtel allegedly opened payme-nt bank accounts without informing of customers who had used Aadhaar to verify their SIMs.
As per a UIDAI official, “This feature allows you to have a log of authentications done by you. It will not let you know where and who had got your information authe-nticated, but it will tell you when the authentication was done.”
For accessing the infor-mation, you need to visit https://uidai.gov.in/ and click on the Aadhaar authentication history link. Later you need to to enter 16-digit Aadhaar number and security code. After keying in the OTP, the user has to specify the type of authentication and submit the query for data.
