Hyderabad: Forensic report in drugs case in court

After receiving the report, the SIT will file the chargesheet in the court.

HYDERABAD: The forensic science laboratory has sent the report of the five samples sent for examination by the court. A total of 11 samples were sent for examination by the special investigation department. A few samples were taken from Tollywood personalities in July this year following the arrest of a few persons.

“The forensic science laboratory has sent the report to the court. We will be getting it in a day or two and only then can we say who all have tested positive,” said a senior official from the P&E department.

After receiving the report, the SIT will file the chargesheet in the court. The SIT had questioned around 27 persons, including 12 persons from the film industry.

Eminent Tollywood personalities like Ananda Krishna, Puri Jagannadh, cinematographer Shyam K. Naidu, actors P. Subba Raju, Tarun Kumar, P. Navdeep, Ravi Teja and Tanish Alladi, actresses Charmi Kaur and Mumaith Khan, art director Dharma Rao alias Chinna, and others had appeared before the SIT.

The sleuths had unearthed the racket following the arrest of three persons Calvin Mascrenhas, Mohammed Abdul Wahed and Mohammed Abdul Quddus in July.

The officials had seized 700 dots of LSD worth Rs 20 lakh and 35 grams of MDMA worth Rs 1.4 lakh from the trio. The racket had shocked the Tollywood industry with several key personalities facing long interrogation by the SIT.
