Cab falls off flyover in Yelahanka, three sustain injuries

The driver lost control of the vehicle, crashed into the median and fell nearly 15 feet from a flyover.

BENGALURU: A cab fell nearly 15 feet from a flyover after hitting the central median and crossing the other side of the road on Airport Road in Yelahanka traffic police limits early on Wednesday morning. Luckily, all three passengers escaped with injuries.

The three victims have been identified as Rachitha Reddy, 22, Chitra Reddy, 24 and the cab driver, Varun Jain, 32. All the three have been admitted to a private hospital and are said to be out of danger.

The police said the cab that was coming from the Kempegowda International Airport towards the city was over speeding. The driver lost the control of the vehicle, crashed into the median and jumped over to the other side of the road before crashing on to the service road below.

The Yelahanka Traffic police arrived at the spot and rushed the victims to the hospital. The driver has sustained head injuries and is undergoing an operation and the other two have sustained leg injuries.
