GUNTUR: The AP BC Samkshema Sangham conducted a rally and gherao protest at the collectorate opposing proposed BC reservations to Kapu community at Guntur on Tuesday. The BC community leaders, along with BCs in large numbers went there which created tension as the activists tried to barge into the collectorate. APBCSS state working president, A. Prasad Yadav, the BC population is above 50 per cent in the AP state but no government tried to develop the BC community. He lamented that the government is trying to suppress the real BC community by including upper class Kapu community.
APCBSS Guntur president, E. Muralikrishna demanded the government to cancel BC reservation proposal to Kapus and not to offer BC reservations to any other developed social co-mmunity in future. He sought increase of BC reservations in the local bodies and increase of reservations to 50 per cent to the BCs.
