Bengaluru to get free WiFi

Bengaluru: Bengaluru is gearing up to bridge the gap between technology and its citizens. Browsing the internet while on streets across the city is going to become a reality. The announcement was made by Dr. C N Ashwath Narayan, Deputy Chief Minister during his talk at Bengaluru Tech Summit, 2019.

Mr. Narayan said that 4000 wifi hotspots will be set up providing high speed internet connectivity in the city. “Installation of wifi has been a long standing demand of the city.

ACT has approached the state government with a request to provide free internet service as a social service,” said Mr. Narayan. Wifi will be freely available, everyday, to the people of Bengaluru for a minimum of one hour.
