N Uttam Kumar Reddy sacks Kyama Mallesh as Ranga Reddy DCC chief

Kyama Mallesh was shocked by the party's decision.

Hyderabad: In the backdrop of corruption allegations made on the Congress leaders by Ranga Reddy District Congress Committee (DCC) president Kyama Mallesh, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has been harsh on him by dismissing him from the DCC president's post.

It may be recalled that Kyama Mallesh had made allegations against AICC Screening Committee Chairman Bhakta Charan Das by saying that his son had demanded Rs 3 crore to get him the ticket for Ibrahimpatnam constituency. He had also made allegations against TPCC leaders for allotting the seat to TD.

Kyama Mallesh was shocked by the party's decision. Besides removing him from the DCC, the TPCC president Mr N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has also issued a show-cause notice to him on Tuesday and asked for a reply by night.

The TPCC is likely to suspend him on Wednesday, in case he fails to give a reply.

Responding on the action taken by TPCC, Mr Kyama Mallesh has addressed the media. He said, “I have been working for the party for the last 35 years. I have not commented on Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi. Suspend Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy who made allegations against the high command and Karthik Reddy, who had destroyed Congress party's flag posts by not giving him the ticket. The DCC of Ranga Reddy has not taken up any action against the party. As there is no response from Uttam and Mr. RC Khuntia even after complaining that they are demanding money, I have lost my cool and have approached the media. How can the party do injustice to a person who worked for the party with dedication?”
