MIM may divert Congress votes to help TRS
Adilabad: News is making the rounds in political circles that the TRS is using the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) to divert Muslim votes towards TRS candidates where the latter are facing a tough fight with Congress candidates in constituencies in the state.
The MIM and its leaders may not campaign directly for TRS candidates but will send feelers in favor of the TRS in their party meetings organised in some constituencies.
Caretaker minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy of the TRS is facing a tough fight from Congress candidate Aleti Maheshwar Reddy in Nirmal.
In this background, the MIM has a role to play in favor of the TRS candidate. Party president Asaduddin Owaisi attended a party meeting in Nirmal on Monday.
Both candidates are financially strong and thus money is playing a role and showing its ugly head much before polling. News is making rounds in political circles that the costliest fight is being fought by both TRS and Congress candidates in Nirmal constituency.
MIM leaders are organising their party meetings and targeting the Congress party and its top leadership while giving feelers in favor of the TRS and caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Political observers say that the MIM meeting and party president Asaduddin Owaisi attending this meeting in Nirmal is an indication of this and reflects the MIM party line. MIM leaders will organise meetings in constituencies where minorities votes are considerable in numbers and MIM has its base and where it can influence the results in favor of the TRS.
MIM leaders may also organise meetings in constituencies where TRS candidates are facing a tough fight.
