Key people hit out at Twitter CEO
Hyderabad: Twitter has responded to the loudest voices by issuing an apology imm-ediately. Prominent persons such as Markandey Katju, and TV talking head Mohandas Pai accused Twitter of targeting the Brahmins and went so far as to call it hate-mongering and anti-national!
Former apex court judge Markandeya Katju said, "It divides India on caste lines and so is part of divide and rule policy of our enemies."
Dronamaraju Ravikumar of the All India Brahmin Federation said, “As a CEO, his platform should work for welfare of the society and not target one caste. He cannot encourage one caste or any religion, there won't be any value to social media. People need not encourage such platforms which do not add any value. What is the intention behind setting up social media, to voice your opinions? Abusing a caste or a religion or abuse someone is not the reason why there is social media.”
While asking every Twitter user to condemn the action, he said that Mr Dorsey should apologise to the Brahmins. Mr Ravikumar added that when a poster was given to him, the CEO should have asked someone what the poster meant.
Mr Pai asked: “Tomorrow if Jack is given slippers with anti Semitic messages in a meeting, will his team allow him to hold it up?”
