Bandaru Dattatreya to ask Narendra Modi to ease cash flow
Hyderabad: Labour minister Bandaru Dattatreya on Sunday said people in general had accepted and were supporting the Centre’s decision to demonetise high-value notes.
These people will offer “note and vote” for the BJP candidates in the 2019 general elections like they did in 1977 by electing the Janata Party government to replace the Congress, he said.
Speaking to mediapersons here, the minister said a recent survey had shown that 78 per cent of people had supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s move to eliminate corruption and black money in the country.
He admitted that there was largescale hardships faced by the people in either exchanging old currency notes or getting new ones but this was a temporary phase. Mr Dattatreya said the people could expect the positive consequences of the decision in three or four months.
He said that he would be meeting Mr Modi on Monday to explain the ground situation and would request him to take more steps to ease currency flow.
