Telangana CM orders more buses on roads from today
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday instructed transport department officials and the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) management to ensure that students do not face hardships while travelling to and from schools and colleges which reopen on Monday.
Mr Rao held a review meeting with senior officers with regard to making alternative arrangements for students. An RTC official said the corporation was operating 6,437 buses across the state and more would be deployed on Monday.
It was also decided to pay `1,750 per day for each private driver who volunteers for RTC service, up from `1,500 at present. RTC authorities said school buses which had been borrowed for public transport had been returned to schools.
