Visakhapatnam: RTC to launch special buses to Sabarimala

RTC regional manager G. Sudesh Kumar said that Ayyappa devotees can book tickets for the special buses either individually or in groups.

Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam region of APSRTC will be operating over 60 special bus services to Sabarimala for Ayyappa devotees till January 1, 2019.

RTC regional manager G. Sudesh Kumar said that Ayyappa devotees can book tickets for the special buses either individually or in groups.

Kumar said that they had operated 25 bus services in 2017 and increased the services to 60 this year following the demand from Ayyappa devotees. The RTC is operating five, six, and seven-day tours to Sabarimala, in different packages.

“With the Apex Court ruling that women of all age groups would be allowed to Sabarimala shrine, it was decided to increase the number of special buses. The special buses have super luxury and deluxe coaches,” he said. The authorities inaugurated a special counter for Sabarimala pilgrims at the RTC Complex in Vizag city.

The RTC will be operating special buses ‘Pancharama Kshetras’, covering temples of Lord Shiva in a single day during the auspicious ‘Karthika Maasam’ which will begin from November 7. These buses will leave from the Dwaraka Bus Station in Vizag city every Sunday evening at 5 PM from November 11 to December 2. For more details, visit www.apsrtconline.in or dial 7382914116.
