Hyderabad High Court takes up child abuse in a petition

The district judge narrated the incidents and the role of the doctors in unlawful administration of hormones.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court has suo motu taken up the incidents of child abuse, trafficking and sexual exploitation in Yadadri and other parts of Telangana state as a PIL.

Chief Justice Thottathil. B. Radhakrishna while previously responding to a news report with regard to incidents of the sexual exploitation in the temple town had directed the Registry to register the issue as a PIL and asked the Nalgonda district judge to submit a report on the issue.

The district judge in his report informed the High Court that the police had so far registered 23 cases against the 33 accused with regard to sex rackets in Yadadri and rescued 36 victims.

The district judge narrated the incidents and the role of the doctors in unlawful administration of hormones.

Following the direction of the Chief Justice, the Registry has made the secretary, Union ministry of women and child development, TS Chief Secretary, and principal secretaries of the home and women and child welfare departments as respondents and listed the matter for October 22.
