GHMC sets new target of Rs 2,500 crore revenue

The civic body has already collected Rs 776 crore pertaining to property tax and Rs 388 crore through building permissions.

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has set a new target of collecting Rs 2,500 crore through building permissions and property tax collection for the financial year 2018-19.

The civic body has already collected Rs 776 crore pertaining to property tax and Rs 388 crore through building permissions.

A senior GHMC official said that going by the current status, the corporation has potential to collect Rs 2,500 crore through building permissions and property tax.

He said that even though the revenue wing has been paralysed because of election, the corporation has managed to Rs 776 crore till date.

The official said that the Development Permission Management System (DPMS) has been yielding good results through which had already collected Rs 388.2 crore.

The corporation has set a target of Rs 1,750 crore from property tax collection and Rs 750 crore through building permissions.
