Kiran Bedi trolled over Modi mom video'
Puducherry: After getting trolled for sharing fake images of the monuments lit up in tricolour, everything went wrong again with Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi, this time for sharing the video of a 97-year-old woman dancing to the tunes of a Gujarati song. The Lt Governor shared the video assuming it as Hiraben, the mother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Tweeple who won’t leave a chance to troll anyone for their tweets trolled the first woman IPS officer of the country for sharing something without cross-checking the facts. In a tweet, Kiran Bedi wrote: “Spirit of Deepavali at the tender age of 97. She’s the mother of Narendra Modi (Hiraben – 1920) celebrating Deepavali at her own home.” The 50-second video shared by Bedi shows an old woman wearing white saree dancing to the tune of Gujarati folk song.
Kiran Bedi has also tagged Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev of the Isha Foundation in the tweet. But the Twitter users pointed out the mistake and said that the same video was uploaded on YouTube on October03, with the title ‘Old woman doing Garba dance’. This error in judgment caused Kiran Bedi a lot of embarrassment as Twitterati was quick to come up with a hilarious response to this mix-up. When the Puducherry LG realised her mistake, she tweeted: “Am informed it's mistaken identity @SadhguruJV. But salute to the mother with so much vigour. I hope I can be like her if/ when I am 96..!”
