Visakhapatnam: Niti Aayog on Wednesday announced that Visakhapatnam has been selected as a growth hub city. The Centre has also designated Mumbai, Surat, and Varanasi as growth hubs.
Niti Aayog CEO B.V.R. Subramaniam recently held a meeting with the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA), and the industrial department to discuss the development of Vizag as a growth hub. Niti Aayog felt that Vizag is one of the fastest growing cities in the country.
On the occasion, Visakhapatnam Mayor Golagani Hari Venkat Kumari said, “Vizag has been identified for its natural resources and Rail, Port, and Air connectivity. Very soon, Vizag will emerge as a developed city and it will see its economic growth.”
