VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh government has come up with the State Export Action Plan-2021 laying path for export-led industrialisation. Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy released the action plan for the state and individual districts during the Vanijya Utsav-2021 held at Vijayawada on Tuesday. The Chief Minister said the individual district plans should bring a sense of collaborative competition among the stakeholders and promote the district as an export hub and hoped the action plan served as a ready trade guide. He said the action plan gave the right direction to the trading and export community to help the state achieve the vision of doubling exports by 2030. Jagan said the Export Action Plan was a guiding compass for industry and government to bring coherence in the efforts made and showcase to the world the strengths and product availability from AP state.
According to the Export Action Plan, the Andhra Pradesh government is crafting a 10-year action plan with pit-stops every 2-3 years interval to monitor progress and re-align strategies adapting to the global scenario. The Export Action Plan draws separate plans to each district under which processed shrimp, aqua feed, coir products promotion aimed in West Godavari, bulk drugs, cashew, quartz/silica, silicon manganese and mangoes in Vizianagaram, granite and cashew in Srikakulam, limestone slabs, stone idols, cotton bales, hydrogenated castor oil and caustic soda flakes in Kurnool, and chili powder, turmeric, shrimp, cotton yarn and tobacco in Guntur.
In Visakhapatnam, products focussed are bulk drugs, Etikoppaka toys, Araku coffee, seafood and coir, in Kadapa barium compounds, barytes, Portland cement, banana and activated alumina, in Prakasam granite slabs, in East Godavari rice, sugar, shrimp, coir pith and fibre and in Anantapur readymade garments, silk sarees, auto components, mango, banana, mosambi and bulk drugs.
In Chittoor, they plan to promote mango pulp, milk products, tamarind, polished granite and household garments, in Nellore, processed shrimp, bulk drugs, auto components, feldspar quartz, silica, rice, lemon products and packing material. Bulk drugs, cotton yarn, processed shrimp, herbal products and auto batteries are aimed to be promoted in Krishna district under the AP State Export Plan.
Earlier, Jagan Mohan Reddy launched an e-portal specifically for exports. He visited the stalls set up at the event and sought various details regarding the products. Further, the Chief Minister presented awards in the name of Industry Champion and Export Champion to various businessmen who played a pivotal role in industrial development and growth of exports in the state.
