Chennai: Navy officer dies playing cricket

While batting, a ball hit him on his chest and he collapsed on the field.

CHENNAI: A Navy officer died after a ball hit him hard on the chest during a cricket match in Chennai har-bour, on Thursday evening.

According to police, the officer Joginder Singh, is a native of Punjab and was playing cricket with his friends near the fifth gate in the neighbour-hood.

While batting, a ball hit him on his chest and he collapsed on the field.

Onlookers immediately took him to the Rajiv Gandhi government general hospital where doctors after examining declared him 'brought dead'.

A case under Section 174 CrPC has been registered, police said.
