Hyderabad: Traffic signals at Trimulgherry, especially from the Hanuman temple side to Lal Bazaar are on the blink frequently, causing a lot of inconvenience to commuters.

Recently, the traffic lights did not work for two days and no one was posted to control the traffic either.

RTC driver, N. Krishna said, “Trimulgherry is one of the busy junctions and the traffic signal has not been working since Friday evening. They were restored only on Sunday morning.

“There was no one to monitor the situation at that time. This has become the norm here. Sometimes, the signals show green lights for two directions. When we cross the stop line, we are fined,” Mr Krishna said.

A resident of Trimulgherry, Mr N. Venkataramana, stated that there was a problem with the amount of time allotted for vehicle of each side.

Asked about these problems, Trimulgherry traffic inspector Hasibuullah Khan said that there was as a technical error which was causing the problem with the signal. “The problem has been rectified,” he said.

Regarding the deployment of constables, the inspector said personnel are usually deployed at every crossroad.
