Mr Sivaji said that the APSCSTC will help couples who have married across castes.

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh SC and ST Commission will help and support inter-caste marriage couples. APSCSTC chairman Karem Sivaji alleged that attacks on SCs and STs had increased after the BJP came to power in the Centre for the past four years.

Mr Sivaji said that the APSCSTC will help couples who have married across castes.

Addressing a press meet at Vijayawada on Thursday, Mr Sivaji asked couples who were receiving threats to lodge a complaint at the nearest police station and inform the Commission.

Mr Sivaji said that government offers Rs 75,000 as aid to couples who marry across castes and asked such couples to fight against caste discrimination with the help of police, the SC, ST Commission and social service organisation.

Mr Sivaji said that the Chalo Guntur Maha Rally would be held on September 22 at Guntur, seeking the protection of the Constitution and annihilation of the caste system across the country.
