Don't indulge in vendetta politics, says B S Yeddyurappa
Bengaluru: Seeming unperturbed by Chief Minister H.D.Kumaraswamy’s veiled threat to reopen the denotification cases against him if he continued his attempts to rock his government, state BJP chief, B.S.Yeddyurappa on Thursday reminded him that his party ruled at the Centre and warned him against indulging in “vendetta politics.”
“ The BJP is ruling at the Centre. If Mr. Kumaraswamy misuses his power, the Modi government at the Centre knows how to counter it. The Chief Minister is threatening to reopen old cases, but our party is running the government at the Centre.
Mr. Kumaraswamy should know this,” he told reporters here. Directly addressing the Chief Minister, he added, “Mr. Kumaraswamy, I know you are resorting to vendetta politics. Your Chief Minister’s post is not permanent. We did not do vendetta politics during our five year stint in government, but your attitude shows you are indulging in it. If you have evidence on the Dr. Shivarama Karanth Layout, order an inquiry. What is stopping you? You are free to conduct any type of inquiry and let the people know the truth. But I will not succumb to your pressure tactics. Your true colours will be made public. Please wait for a while.”
The BJP leader said he was aware of his boundaries as the state president of a national party, but Mr Kumaraswamy was crossing all limits. “I am not here to learn political lessons from him,” he added caustically. Going on the offensive, Mr Yeddyurappa also demanded that the Chief Minister respond to land grab allegations against the Deve Gowda family in Hassan district by Congress leader, A. Manju.
“The Deve Gowda family has encroached 2.5 acres of government land in Mysuru and developed sites in the names of various members. We have already released documents pertaining to this encroachment. The Deve Gowda family is right at the top in encroaching government land across the state,” he charged.
