BJP terms TD as AP traitor

The TD could not do it but was opening thousands of PD accounts to grab the funds for its own use and had diverted the funds, the BJP alleged.

Kakinada: The Bharatiya Janata Party state Executive Body meeting stated the Telugu Desam and the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu were ‘traitors’ of Andhra Pradesh as the Union government had been getting ready to release more funds and had advised the state to form a ‘Special Purpose Vehicle’ to get them. The TD could not do it but was opening thousands of PD accounts to grab the funds for its own use and had diverted the funds, the BJP alleged.

The party state Executive Body Meeting passed a political resolution stating that bifurcation had brought development to Andhra Pradesh as the state budget had reached '3.5 lakh crore for 13 districts from '1.2 lakh crore during united Andhra Pradesh.

This development took place only due to the help of the Union government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Union government was providing crores of funds to Andhra Pradesh for various schemes and projects, including the Polavaram project.

The party stated that though the party president Kanna Lakshminarayana had triggered 60 questions to the ruling TD government, it could not give answer or respond to a single question. Mr Lakshminarayana told reporters that the ruling TD was misappropriating funds and adopting corrupt practices. He alleged that Central funds were being diverted for other activities and misused.
