BJP leaders to Governor: H D Kumaraswamy instigating people to attack us
Bengaluru: Coming down heavily on Chief Minister H.D.Kumaraswamy for calling on people to “revolt against” the party for allegedly trying to rock his government, the BJP on Thursday urged the Governor to intervene in the matter.
Speaking to reporters here, senior BJP leaders, Govinda Karjol, R. Ashok, B.J. Puttaswamy and N. Ravikumar claimed the Chief Minister was trying to instigate people to resort to “mutiny” and the party was already suffering the consequences.
“Soon after Kumaraswamy gave the call, a few goondas barged into the residence of (state BJP chief) B.S.Yeddyurappa to protest against him, but our MLAs chased them away. The police have failed to take action against the culprits”, Mr. Karjol claimed, urging the Governor to look into the matter . In an obvious retaliation to the Chief Minister raking up the Shivaram Karanth layout issue against Mr Yeddyurappa, Mr Puttaswamy referred to cases pending against him too. “The Jantkal mining case is still pending against Kumaraswamy. If the court had refused him bail, he would have been in jail,” he observed.
Claiming that the Deve Gowda family deserved a Ph.D for “grabbing government land” in the state, he alleged this had taken place in Holenarasipura, Ramanagara and Mysuru. The BJP leader also released documents of alleged encroachment of government land by Minster, H.D. Revanna and his family in Paduvarahippe village, Holenarasipura taluk. The documents were released two days ago by Congress leader A. Manju, in Hassan. Mr. Ravikumar accused Mr Kumaraswamy of misusing public money by staying at the Taj West End hotel. “Why can’t he stay in government acommodation?” he demanded.
