Will two more trains decongest tech corridor to whitefield?

However railway officials claim that currently 29 trains stop at Whitefield station, but there little awareness about these services.

Bengaluru: Every day around 9,000 techies take suburban trains to reach their work places at the Whitefield IT hub.

Though a suburban rail network was mooted three decades ago, it got a shot in the arm only last year when city-based citizen groups launched a Chuku buku beku campaign for better rail connectivity from the city to Whitefield. South Western Railway is planning to introduce two more suburban trains next month and nine trains by 2018 to further strengthen the network. However railway officials claim that currently 29 trains stop at Whitefield station, but there little awareness about these services. Transport experts opine that 102 trains pass by Whitefield station and the SWR can introduce stoppages for more trains to increase connectivity.
